The Global PV Bracket Market to Exceed $60 Billion in 2026, Cold-Formed Section Steel Emerges as Core Material for New Energy Infrastructure
According to statistics released by GEP (Global Energy Perspective), a global energy consulting firm, the overall market size of the global photovoltaic (PV) bracket system will surpass 60 billion US dollars in 2026. The penetration rate of solar trackers has exceeded 50% for the first time, making them the mainstream choice for ground-mounted power stations.
Global newly added PV installed capacity maintains strong growth, projected to top 700 GW for the whole year. This boom has triggered surging demand for PV-specific cold-formed section steel products, including C-channel steel, Z-channel steel, U-channel steel, support columns, matching clamps and plastic wing nuts.
The Asia-Pacific region accounts for 58% of the world’s total PV installed capacity, ranking as the world’s largest consumption market, followed by Europe and North America. Latin America, the Middle East and Africa stand out as the fastest-growing emerging markets.
In global ground-mounted PV projects, hot-dip galvanized cold-formed section steel is adopted in over 70% of cases, thanks to its high load-bearing capacity, stable cost and excellent compatibility with large-scale power station construction. Zinc-aluminum-magnesium (ZAM) high-corrosion-resistant steel is gaining rapid popularity. Widely deployed in harsh environments such as coastal areas, desert regions and high salt-spray zones, it has become the standard core material for high-end PV projects worldwide.
